The Zonta Club of Guelph was established in 1979. In that time they have donated over $559,000 to local charities and projects in our community working to advance the status of women and children through advocacy and support. They work with groups such as Women in Crisis, Victim Services, The Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Program as well as Michael House.
Each year on International Women's Day (March 8th), we celebrate the womxn in our lives and the work Zonta Club does for our Community. We launched a collaborative brew made with the women of Zonta Club where 50 cents from every can is donated to the work they do.
This brew pours a hazy burnt orange with a fluffy white head. The nose is full of lemon sorbet, pine, grapefruit, mixed berry jam, clove and orange pekoe tea. On the palate, bitter-sweet orange marmalade spread on spicy rye bread comes to mind. A hint of black tea rounds out the analogy. This is an interesting beer, full of fruity and herbal hop character propped up be a big, round malt profile accented by the spiciness of rye.
