EVENTS COORDINATOR

Description: Royal City Brewing is hiring a full-time events coordinator. Would you like to be a key part of our Guelph brewery? Are you excited to work in a small, energetic, locally-focused business? Are you a hands-on type person with excellent attention to detail? We are looking for a full-time addition to our team to coordinate and execute private rentals in our event space, The Ward Room. Our ideal candidate will be: outgoing and friendly, passionate about beer, organized and with flair, and an eye for design. Work will be onsite at Royal City Brewing, and will involve evening and weekend shifts.

This will be an hourly position working between 30-40 hours per week. 

Rate of pay will start at $23 per hour. 

This position is eligible for benefits after a three-month probationary period has passed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate with clients to book & schedule private event rentals at Royal City Brewing.
  • Work with the front of house team to execute scheduled events.
  • Participate in planning and set up of overall events schedule at Royal City
  • Meet with clients to facilitate and understand their event specific needs
  • Supervise set up and tear downs of event spaces
  • Liaise with kitchen and front of house staff for set up and execution of events
  • Point person during events to ensure a great customer experience
  • Help Serve as needed at events
  • Inventory or organizational duties at the direction of the FOH Manager and or GM
  • Develop and implement smaller, scheduled weekly events for both the Ward Room or Beer Hall ie: trivia nights, book clubs, etc. when spaces aren’t booked for private events
  • Handle the scheduling for Royal City’s Brewery tour program
  • Carry on all work in a manner that reflects Royal City Brewing’s mission and values

Skills & Job Requirements

  • High level off attentiveness and attention to detail
  • Ontario Smart Serve
  • Experience in set up and serving at banquet or weddings an asset
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule
  • Familiarity with A/V set up an asset
  • Organization & strong ability to set and manage schedules
  • Punctuality and reliability essential
  • Friendly, outgoing and a “people person”
  • Flexibility and adaptability – we are a small company and there are lots of different tasks to do
  • Passion for, and understanding of craft beer

MARKET STAFF

We are looking for someone who loves beer, early mornings, and the hustle and bustle of a busy farmers market. This is a part-time position, perfect for someone seeking supplemental income. Royal City Brewing has been proudly showing off our beer at local farmers markets for past few years, and we are looking for an outgoing, sales minded person to continue bringing our product to market goers.

The job entails some early morning and some afternoon shifts representing our brewery and selling beer from a market booth. The markets happen Saturday mornings and some weekday afternoons.

REQUIREMENTS
- A valid G drivers license with clean driving abstract
- Comfortably drive a panel van
- Flexible schedule to work most Saturday mornings and rotating weekday afternoon
- Able to use a hand cart to move multiple cases of beer
- Able to lift case of beer and booth set up items (ex. Large collapsible tent, foldable tables)
- Clear communications skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Outgoing and sales focused


$18/hour
